Throughout history, there have been stories told of woman being persecuted- old myths highlighting women who have been taken advantage of. From poor Persephone who was taken by Hades to Hell against her will, to Eve who was seen for being the cause of all sin in the world for giving into temptation- their stories brought to life on stage have embodied society's oppression of women throughout the centuries. The audience is taken on a journey when showcasing these stories within a poetic fashion and comparing it to our society now as Woman’s Marches and the #MeToo movement are being foreshadowed within the words brought to life on stage. This highlights the concept that woman’s oppression is not new and is still a great problem in society now, and there is something to be done about it. Yet there is always hope for people to stand up and let their lone voice be heard by everyone who is around them.
