Set in a small, Southern town during the mid 1950’s, the audience is first introduced to a seemingly perfect little girl, Rhoda. Charming as she may be, her drive to win a Penmanship medal turns (what looks like) an innocent child into a potential killer. As the plot unravels, we soon discover that the boy who had won the medal unexpectedly drowned at a school event with the prize medal mysteriously nowhere to be found. The audience is taken on a journey as the mother of Rhoda battles with the idea of her daughter playing a role in this irreproachable  boy’s death. This riveting murder mystery showcases the debate of the time, Genetics versus Environment, and how that truly affects the human physique.
